Balcombe Place Gin Launch - July 2024

We held a drinks party in the newly renovated Sun Room to launch our very exciting new venture - Balcombe Place Gin! Family, friends of the business and our favourite wedding suppliers mingled together on an extremely hot evening, sampling our variety of gins and cocktails. Our in-house chef, Shrimpy, made canapés and the lovely duo Elia and Scott from Napoli Gelato provided us with delicious ice creams for dessert. Desperately needed to beat the heat!

S & N, An intimate wedding with a garden ceremony - June 2024

The most gorgeous couple, inside and out, married on the lawn in front of their closest families and friends. Every supplier involved felt the same - they were a very special couple and we all loved working together to create their dream day.

S & B chose The Drawing Room for their ceremony with the stunning marble fireplace as the perfect backdrop. This lot knew how to party! The DJ kept the dance floor full all night long - such a fun night!

A very Special 90th Birthday party - May 2024

We were lucky enough to hold a very lovely birthday lunch for a really special birthday. The birthday girl chose to have canapés, traditional roast beef with all the trimmings, beautiful sharing pudding platters and generous cheese boards - all provided by the wonderful The Garden Chef. Tigers to lilies made stunning flower arrangements for the tables and beautiful vases to welcome guests into the main hall.

Booked couples wine tasting event - May 2024

On a Friday evening in May we held our first Booked Couples Wine Tasting event. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect evening, it was warm enough to be able to welcome our guests on the terrace with a Balcombe Place Gin and Tonic. Our guests mingled, sipped their gins and watched the sunset before they moved to the dining room to begin the wine tasting.

Together with Marcus Thorold of Freshfield Fine Wines, we offered our guests sparkling wine, whites and reds to taste. Marcus talked us through the different wines and answered many questions. The guests snacked on charcuterie boards created by our in-house chef.

Next, David from The Tipsy Food Company produced two delicious cocktails for everyone to try and explained the process of creating bespoke cocktails for larger crowds at weddings.

The wonderful florist, Tigers to Lilies, created beautiful arrangements for the dining room table.

It was a beautiful evening that our couples enjoyed hugely. Hopefully we will be organising more in the future. Cheers!

the first wedding of 2024 - April 2024

We were so excited to throw open our doors for the first wedding of 2024! The weekend began with Afternoon Tea on Friday followed by a beautiful dinner in the Dining Room, full of laughter and love with both families in attendance. The wedding day dawned with some sunshine peeking through the clouds. K & J got married in a nearby church and came back to celebrate with a lovely wedding breakfast, cocktails and dancing the night away. Love was felt all around.

The Wedding Showcase - March 2024

An opportunity for booked and new couples to come and explore the house and to meet our handpicked suppliers.

The house was dressed as though for a wedding, with suppliers filling the rooms. We had everyone from caterers, florists, photographers, musicians, wedding cakes, celebrants, wedding cars, magicians, artists and more. Couples were met with a welcome drink then encouraged to explore, chat and sample the delights available to them. The day was a lovely success for us, suppliers and our couples - it didn’t hurt that the sun shone!
