“There just aren’t the words to express how incredible Grace, Fo and the team at Balcombe Place are.
Our wedding day on 25th November 2023 surpassed all of our hopes and expectations, and we truly had the time of our lives. We could not recommend Balcombe Place more highly.
Balcombe Place itself is absolutely spectacular. We instantly fell in love with it, and once we had visited for the first time, we couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else. There is such a lovely feel to the house and gardens; it is magnificent but cosy all at once.
Having our ceremony in front of the marble fireplace in the Drawing Room was really memorable and special, and in the evening, there was somewhere for everyone to feel comfortable - from the dance floor, to the bar, to the sofas & open fire in the library.
What really made our day extra special though, was our brilliant co-ordinator, Grace. I cannot imagine that there is a more organised, proactive, thorough and knowledgeable wedding co-ordinator out there - Grace has to be one of the best in the industry at what she does.
On the day itself, Grace was amazing. She was genuinely invested in making sure that we were having the best day, and there were a few exceptional moments where she went completely above and beyond. My family and bridesmaids all commented on how fantastic she was. Thank you for everything Grace!

“As soon as we walked in to Balcombe Place we knew it was our wedding venue, it speaks for itself, it is an incredible, beautiful house.
When we went to first view the house and meet Emma at the end of 2018 I instantly felt that she was the right person to help me on my wedding journey. It was like we was always on the same wave length with each aspect and she was always there to answer my constant emails. She gave us so much confidence in our planning especially when we decided to move it on another year to August 2021. Emma thank you isn’t enough, you have made everything so special for us.
My bridal party stayed with me on the Friday night and it was so amazing to have the house to ourselves, every room is uniquely decorated and so beautiful, everyone who stayed has said how lovely every room is uniquely designed.
Our day couldn’t have gone any better, everything went to plan, our only issue was all our guests drank all our fizz before our wedding breakfast 😅 luckily Emma came to the rescue and saved the day! Even with the weather being a bit wild it didn’t matter, everything was perfect.
All of our guests are still talking about our wedding and wish we could do it all over again, it was the most perfect day and if I could rewind and do it all over again I would do it in a heartbeat.

“We were lucky enough to have our wedding at Balcombe Place in April 2022. It was truly stunning and the dreamiest of venues. We initially viewed the venue prior to 2nd lockdown and Emma & Fo kindly allowed us to visit at very short notice before lockdown. It took our breath away from the first moment and we knew this was the venue. No other venues compared. The Balcombe Place package is so unique and every BP Bride will know but its just so magical staying in the house for the entire weekend. The BP Chef and all involved behind the scenes are all amazing and the food was epic throughout the weekend. Fo has restored this beautiful house and we just loved her personal family story with the house. The team couldn’t do enough for me, and were with me every step of the way through the planning to the launching of the party. On the night, the team were in the background ensuring that everything was perfect from start to finish. 2 months on, and people are still talking about what an amazing party it was. “We are still struggling to put into words how incredible Emma and Balcombe Place were for our wedding in November 2019. We stumbled across the venue by chance really - it must have been fate! We booked the house whilst it was still in the stages of being revamped and it was amazing to be part of the journey and see the love being poured into it and learn about the history, we feel very emotionally connected to the house and already really miss our visits! We fell in love with the house the moment we walked in, you really have to see it to understand what its like, it sounds strange to say it about a house but it has a lovely feeling. But what ultimately sold it to us was meeting Emma and seeing how dedicated and hard working she is. Throughout the planning process Emma was amazing, answering all my hundreds of emails, coordinating every supplier, suggesting ideas we'd never have thought of, and solving every problem before they even occurred. And always as the loveliest, calmest, most helpful person we've ever known. The option to have Balcombe Place from Friday to Sunday is such a huge bonus and something you will struggle to find at another venue. It truly feels like your house whilst you are there. Our biggest criteria for our wedding venue was we didn't want somewhere that felt like a wedding machine, where you are just one of hundreds being churned through. Balcombe Place couldn't be further from that, and its clear how committed Emma and Fo are to maintaining that. All the suppliers we worked with from Emma's suggested list were also incredible, and it speaks volumes that they all talk so positively about working with Balcombe Place. “It’s difficult to find the superlatives to underline just how great Balcombe Place was for our wedding weekend at the end of April this year. It really delivered on absolutely every level possible and we couldn’t have asked for a better venue, for not only our big day but for the entire weekend. It genuinely made the whole experience extra special.
First of all, a special thanks to our superb coordinator, Grace. From our first visit to the day itself, Grace was extremely friendly and professional. She was a constant source of calm and levelheadedness in guiding our decision making throughout the planning and on the day itself. She kept everything ticking in the background whilst keeping a low profile. The day went ahead without a hitch and that was in a large part thanks to her efforts and expert coordination!
The house staff were super efficient, friendly and always happy to help. As for the time spent there outside of the actual wedding, the meals were absolutely superb, both plentiful and high quality. We particularly appreciated how flexible they were with our quite chaotic eating/living arrangements. As we were a group of 30 including 11 children between the ages of 2 and 12, things were quite manic at times with toys strewn all over the place. But the staff, Grace and owner Fo were all so patient and understanding. They went above and beyond to accommodate all of our needs and it contributed to all of the guests having such a great weekend. So much so, in fact, that one family member has gone so far as to say that it was one of the best weekends of their lives!
The accommodation rooms were extremely comfortable and spacious with beautiful interior, each room having its own sense of individuality. As mentioned, our guests ranged from the age of 2 to 72, and all were equally comfortable and catered for!
Finally, and probably most importantly, the grounds and house itself are truly quite breathtaking and make for an incredible backdrop and home for the day. The need for extra decoration is minimal thanks to the stunning architecture; from the grand wooden arches in the main hall to the show-stealing marble fireplace in the ceremony room. Quite frankly, it’s the perfect wedding venue.

“We had our wedding reception at Balcombe Place in May 2022. It was absolutely spectacular! After looking at 16 wedding venues (yes, 16!), Balcombe Place was the only venue where we walked away knowing that we absolutely wanted our wedding reception to be held there. The building and grounds are simply stunning. It is incredibly grand, steeped in history and it has been so lovingly restored and looked after. It is clear that the Balcombe Place team takes such pride in the venue. We had the venue from Friday to Sunday, with our wedding on the Saturday. The fact that we could call the venue home for the weekend was perfect and something that so many other venues weren’t able to offer. Not only are the function rooms at Balcombe Place phenomenal (in particular the Music Room), the bedrooms and dining room were also gorgeous. Shrimpy provides delicious house meals all weekend and Fo was wonderful for giving us a tour and history of the building and grounds. Emma was an absolute dream to have on board for planning our wedding. She is supremely efficient and was so responsive to all of our questions, no matter how small. Emma has great creativity and gave us brilliant suggestions for suppliers, styling the venue and organising the order of events. She was also incredibly reassuring and reasonable when it came to rescheduling our date, which could have been stressful for us but thankfully it wasn’t. On the day, there was no detail that Emma wasn’t on top of. She knew exactly what was happening when, where we wanted things to be set up, and she could anticipate everything we needed before we knew we needed it! In our view, Balcombe Place is the perfect venue!”

Ben and I had our wedding reception at Balcombe Place in October, and we could not have wished for a more perfect day.
As you walk into the house, it’s as though it is giving you a hug. The light that twinkles through the vast windows creates a sense of magic. The scenery, even on a murky day, is awesome. There really is no other place quite like it. You have to see it to believe it!
To make everything extra wonderful, Enthusiastic Emma is there to guide you seamlessly though your entire event. Emma’s knowledge of how the house flows, helps make the best of your day, utilising every room. She is also open to the odd crazy idea and had to humour us on a few we had!
All of the above just make it a heavenly place, with the added bonus of being able to stay for the weekend – what a dream!
Only downside - No longer having an event to chat to Emma about and explore the ever-improving updates that are going on in the glorious rooms.
Maybe we could have a first anniversary dinner party?!?!

“It has taken me a long time to decide what to write. I can say it in words but to write it all down it is hard to get how happy I was. We had our daughter's wedding here at the beginning of October. And so glad we had it at Balcombe Place. My husband and I walked into the house to look over it, and we both looked at each other and agreed there and then, this is where we wanted to hold the special day. And talking to Emma I knew it was going to all come together perfect. But it was beyond perfect, it was Amazing. Nothing was to much trouble. “We met Emma, our planner, on our first viewing and having had extensive experience in the wedding industry she guided us through the venue and accommodated every idea we already had as well as offering up advice and inspiration to help us visualise our day. Now, once you see it, you can’t un-see it, so don’t bother booking anywhere else to see afterwards.
The venue, the grounds, the team, everything is perfect, and for us, we simply had the most incredible wedding day. Our wedding was delayed from July 2020 to July 2021 due to Covid. That itself could have been tricky, but Emma was absolutely amazing with the rearrangements. The day was well worth waiting for.
Most couples will only have one wedding day, and generally no experience in organising such an event themselves. I cannot speak highly enough of our planner, Emma’s, organisational skills and expertise in every area wedding related. “We held our wedding at Balcombe Place in August 2021 and genuinely had the perfect weekend. After so much covid related stress everything perfectly came together and we had the most beautiful, fun and romantic weekend with our close friends and family. It felt so special to have the whole house to ourselves all weekend, especially since many of our guests came from abroad. The venue is perfect for small and large weddings (our was planned for 110-120 but ended up being 90 due to covid), there are function rooms for all occasions and the in house staff and catering is incredible, we truly felt so pampered while we stayed in the house. All 14 bedrooms are gorgeous (our guests LOVED them ) and the house and the grounds are a spectacular backdrop. Emma who runs Balcombe Place was incredibly helpful both during all stages of the planning (and panic!), helping us plan our wedding as we wanted it (making quite some tweaks from a traditional British wedding) as well as during the weekend ensuring all went smoothly. We are eternally grateful for everyone's help in making our wedding of our dreams came true!”
